For My Sister

I’m making a little package for my sister.

Inside is a little burnt-edge poppy brooch.

Inspired by the tutorial at A Lemon Squeezy Home.

A little white organza flower hair clip.

Courtesy of the tutorial by Disney at Ruffles and Stuff.

One of my ruffle flower brooches.

(This one is super ruffley.)

And a nifty jersey knit produce bag thanks to the tutorial at Delia Creates.

I’m also including some super awesome homemade deodorant.  It really is the best.

I hope she likes her package!

Smelling Good

What oh what does this cute little tin hold?

Why, deodorant of course!

I got together with a friend of mine and made deodorant using a recipe from the Chicken.

3 Tablespoons shea butter
3 Tablespoons baking soda
2 Tablespoons corn starch
2 Tablespoons cocoa butter
2 vitamin E oil gel caps (puncture and squeeze out the oil)
Essential Oil (we did sweet orange and lemongrass because that’s what I had)

It’s not antiperspirant (no yucky chemicals by the lymph nodes)

So far it’s better than the Tom’s of Maine stuff I was buying at Target.

But it’s only been a day so we’ll see.

And besides that Tom’s stuff did NOT work for me.

I have high hopes.

If it doesn’t work out then I’ll give it another shot.
