Reversible Tote

Not that long ago, I got a new church calling, (volunteer position) and as my way of handling it, I made a myself a new tote bag.

Strange?  Maybe.

Both the inside and outside are made from Ikea fabrics.  I like how thick, durable, and colorful the Ikea fabrics are.  They are perfect for making bags and pillows.

Just for fun, I made the bag reversible.  It’s easy to do.

Just make two identical bags and a set of straps.  After sewing the side seams and boxing the corners, turn one bag inside out.  Pin the bags together, right-sides-facing, making sure to secure the straps between the layers.  The straps will hang down between and only the ends will show.  Then sew all the way around the top of the bag, leaving a gap to turn the bag.  Turn the bag right-side-out using the hole and then top stitch all the way around the edge.  Voila!
