I was so proud of my thrifting find. It was a beautiful pumpkin colored Brooks Brothers 100% wool sweater for my husband.
And then a couple of months later I accidentally threw it in the wash.
In case you don’t know, laundering wool in the washing machine leads to felting and major shrinkage.
So now the beautiful pumpkin colored sweater is a dress for my littlest girl.
I traced one of her existing jumpers, using the existing neck hole and shoulder seams.
I used the waist band to make some simple flowers.
I didn’t bother to finish the hem or arm holes because felted wool doesn’t fray.
The dress is warm, with plenty of room to grow.
As long as I remember to hand wash it.
Love love love. I kind of want one for myself, that looks comfy 🙂
