Repurposed Stripey Tote

This grey striped tote is a birthday gift for my friend.

It is made entirely of repurposed materials.

Hopefully she’ll think that’s cool and not weird.

The grey striped material is from a nice cotton curtain.

The flower rosette embellishments are made from jersey t-shirts and stitched down by machine.

The inside is lined with another striped curtain, this time in yellow and from Pottery Barn.

I love the weight and size (16×17 inches before seams) of the bag.  I boxed the corners (2 inches)  to make it roomy and added an inside pocket to corral small things like keys.

I think it is a perfect bag for the library.

Or church.

Or whatever.
